Your Guide to Understanding More of The World - New Stories (at least) Weekly

WAT?

So if you’re reading this, you probably know me. Or at least a part of me. Maybe from our years of working in psych/mental health clinics as a counselors. Maybe from any number of hundreds of concerts staffed, produced, or otherwise. Or maybe still from my time as a merchant vending my Diamond Doughnuts recipes to the greater Denver area. In any-case, throughout my many lives, getting to create, expressing the precise core of a thought, and capturing the essence of an idea has been my North Star (or at least the best approximation I have for a guiding force in the moment😅). In this, I’ve found a situation that I’ve now been grappling with for some years: Getting another person to experience the thought you’re trying to convey via w/e medium (speech, text, dance, food, Pokémon needlepoint, etc...) is an undertaking that we often collectively fall short from achieving and at best experience heavy lossiness during. So enter this latest space you’re currently occupying, a project that I’ve been thinking of for a long time. I’m using this space as a thought conduit/info-hub for growth, expression, and connection. It’ll house my latest interviews and content pieces covering art, science, current events, and the myriad topics relevant to today (and me😃). Most importantly, the stories and anecdotes will all hone in on deepening our understanding and felt relation to the subject matter of the day. Expect avenues to great communities and projects that lean towards bettering the world around us to be featured in most every letter, so you can engage with positive places and maybe shift from the larger entities that seem next to impossible to get away from. Thanks for engaging, you, my most treasured, supple nice bean of a reader.🙌🏾

The Good Store is a project from the Vlog brothers that gives away 100% of its proceeds (the type of thing I dream of being stable enough to do 😭). Their efforts are funding the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone and other amazing things. Check em out here!

Will You Won’t You?

The number of hobbies/identities I have in my mind’s eye that I do not physically undertake is weighing on me! So one I’ve put off for too long is releasing music with the producers I have/the music community around me. I’ve given myself a hard deadline of the end of February 😮. What’s something you’ve been ‘meaning to do more?’

What the Dough doin’?

So after three years of business, what do I want the next moves for the shop to be? Do I want there to be next moves? In a perfect world, OF COURSE. But it became far too much to handle in the manner we were running the shop. So, long story short, in still wanting to be able to deliver the goodies, we’ll be piloting a monthly drop of products and fulfilling all orders on that schedule. When the burden of needing to sell isn’t over your head, you get to have that fun flow of producing the goods with the energy that attracted you to the process in the first place. 🎇

Seeing as how there are a million and one things I’m aiming to undertake atm, (like this lovely letter and my new website!) it’s looking like February will have to be the launch month for the monthly drops🤞🏾. I’ve found it better to proceed with caution on these bigger business moves and not burnout before I even start. (Trust me, it’s all too easy 😅.)

So after some honing in on producing some beefy content, I’ll be back with the treats. Till then, enjoy the treats for your brain...meaning my content...I’m not sorry but I probably should be.

This year is going to be a lot, but then again, in the grand scheme of things, every year has been and always will be that way. Focus on the voices speaking positive truth to power and have fun using your tools to shape your life this year, I know I will.
